Most Versatile Vallhund
The Most Versatile Vallhund Award (MVV) is offered for SVCA members in good standing, to recognize the Swedish Vallhund that best combines herding ability, trainability, and representation of the breed standard at the SVCA National Specialty.
DESIGNATED POINT KEEPERS
Before the start of the National Specialty, the National Specialty Show Committee will identify to the SVCA Board the persons responsible for MVV record keeping for the duration of the competition. These representatives must be at least two SVCA members in good standing to jointly calculate MVV points.
The totals must be completed no less than one hour prior to the MVV award presentation according to the rules set forth in this policy.
MOST VERSATILE VALLHUND (MVV) COMPETITION RULES
- Competition events include MVV conformation, herding, obedience, rally, and agility (regular andpreferred).
- The MVV competition must have a minimum of five (5) entries in order to be held.
- The MVV entry fee shall be $20, using the MVV entry form provided in the Specialty Show Premium.
- Points must be earned in at least three events. When Herding is offered at a specialty, one event must be in Herding to be considered for MVV placement.
- AKC rules determine eligibility for all individual performance classes. Only Qualifying scores will earn points.
- The single highest point value earned in each event by MVV competitors will be used for calculation.
- Ribbons shall be awarded for 1st through 5th place.
- Ties for placements will be broken using the highest herding score as calculated for MVV points. If tied dogs have identical herding scores or no herding event is offered at the show, the dog earning points in the greatest number of events will prevail. If there is still a tie, dual placements shall be awarded.
- Computed MVV scores and standings shall be posted as soon as possible after each competition is completed. It is the owner/handlers responsibility to check the scores and report any suspected errors to the designated scorekeepers at least one hour prior to the scheduled awards presentation.
10. Awards shall be final once presented.
Versatility Conformation (mandatory)

This event is open only to those dogs entered in the MVV competition.

This event is separate from the AKC conformation class(es) and must be entered using the MVV entry form.

Dogs will be judged to the AKC Standard except that spayed and neutered dogs are eligible.

Judging will be by a qualified judge selected by the Specialty Committee. The preferred judge choice should be AKC approved for Swedish Vallhunds, a SVCA breeder judge, or the present Specialty judge.

Dogs shall be rated by the Judge with point values as follows:
Excellent 5 points
Very Good-4 points
Good-3 points
Acceptable-2 points
Entered/major fault/non-type-1 point
Herding (mandatory if offered)

Due to the limited availability of potential tracking courses and events, tracking is not included in the Most Versatile Vallhund Competition.
